Here at IMI we take product testing very seriously and always stay on top of the latest developments. 
Brexit may have some affects in the future on what is needed and what is
mandatory but it is still too early to say exactly what these will be and we will keep all our customers fully appraised. In the meantime we continue to test all our products to current EU standards and also other tests required worldwide and dependent on delivery destinations. Our long term partners Intertek and PTS are constantly updating our team on developments and making us aware of any changes that we must adhere to. These can encompass new chemicals under REACH which is under regular review. If you need any advice please do not hesitate to ask our team here at IMI.

Shipping

Yang Ming sea freight shipping line voluntarily suspended the trading of its stock on the Taiwanese stock exchange recently. This has been done so they can recapatilize their business in light of trading losses

sustained during the recent shipping downturn. They have restructured their business and trading will commence again from May onwards.
They are expecting business to continue as usual, but following on from the recent demise of the Korean shipping giant Hanjin some caution should be expected. Thankfully, we at IMI, do not use this shipping line at the moment and have no plans to do so for the foreseeable future.

New staff: Bei Zang

We are delighted to announce that Bei has recently joined IMI.
She studied for a BSC in Fashion Textiles Retailing at The University of Manchester.
Since then she has been working in luxury retail in which she has been active from the age of 16.
No doubt she will ensure we all look sharp! She speaks fluent Mandarin and she is super excited to be joining the buying team at IMI!
Trip to China
Ivy Liu, our Purchasing Executive, recently visited China and a number of our regular suppliers in order to look at showrooms and select new and exciting products. Some of these have already been shown to clients.
Her trip also involved factory inspections and ensuring that our supply chain meets the auditing requirements we have of them. It was a busy trip but important for us to be maintaining regular contact with our supply base.
